The New Yorker (also called the Erebus), a catamaran designed by Malcolm Tennant, is the direct ancestor of the PH8. The PH8 is built of aluminium and is a bit less wide.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the Wild Wind IV and visit the
boat in the Summer of 2003 at a trawlerfest in Poulsbo, Washington.
It is a wonderful boat and had crossed the Pacific ocean from New Zealand to the
Pacific Northwest. I knew already then that I was on the right track
building a catamaran.
